CMM Programmer 📍 Andover, Hampshire 💷 Competitive Salary DOE 🕒 Permanent | Full Time A leading precision engineering manufacturer based in Andover is seeking an experienced CMM Programmer to join its quality and inspection team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented inspection professional with strong metrology experience to work within a modern manufacturing environment producing high-precision components for demanding industries. You'll play a key role in ensuring quality standards are met and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the business. The Role As a CMM Programmer, you will be responsible for programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), carrying out inspections of complex machined components, and ensuring compliance with customer specifications and quality requirements. A strong working knowledge of PC-DMIS software is essential. Key Responsibilities - Program and operate CMM machines using PC-DMIS. - Create, edit, and optimise inspection programmes. - Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspections. - Inspect high-precision machined components to customer and engineering specifications. - Interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, and GD&T. - Complete inspection reports and quality documentation accurately. - Use a range of manual inspection equipment including micrometers, verniers, gauges, and height gauges. - Support root cause investigations and quality improvement activities. - Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve non-conformances. - Maintain accurate quality records and support compliance with quality procedures. Requirements Essential: - Proven experience programming and operating CMM machines. - Strong experience using PC-DMIS software. - Excellent understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T. - Experience inspecting precision-engineered or machined components. - Strong knowledge of manufacturing quality standards and inspection techniques. - Competent using manual measuring equipment. - High level of attention to detail and accuracy. - Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively. Desirable - Experience within precision engineering or advanced manufacturing environments. - Background in automotive, motorsport, defence, aerospace, or medical manufacturing. - Exposure to quality engineering and continuous improvement activities. - Relevant engineering or quality qualifications.
