Please note that the working pattern is 8am-4pm Monday to Friday.
The CMM Programmer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining coordinate measuring machine (CMM) programs to ensure all automotive components meet strict dimensional, tolerance, and quality specifications. Utilizing PC-DMIS, you will support production, engineering, and new product introduction (NPI) by providing precise metrology data. Additionally, you will leverage FARO Arm portable metrology solutions to perform on-machine and in-process inspections, driving continuous improvement and zero-defect initiatives across the manufacturing facility.
Programming and operating CNC CMM machines using PC-DMIS software to validate component/tooling manufacture
Reviewing, interpreting and communicating inspection results to support development and production teams in the decision making of changes required to ensure the accurate manufacture of components
Supporting patrol inspection team with first off & last off processes utilising CMM or mechanical measurement techniques (Vernier, Micrometer, DTI, shadowgraph etc.)
Measuring and reporting dimensional matters on complex injection-moulded or metallic components as required by quality management system and client specifications
Programming and operating CNC CMM using PC DMIS (essential)
ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2009 or AS9100D quality management systems
Working with automotive quality requirements and PPAP
Interfacing directly with customers in discussions around measurement data (if required)
Experience as a CMM Programmer within a high-volume manufacturing environment (Automotive industry highly preferred).
Software Mastery: Proven, hands-on expertise in advanced programming with PC-DMIS (including CAD/CAD++ modules).
Industry Standards: Familiarity with automotive quality standards, specifically PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), APQP, and IATF 16949 or ISO 9001.
Direct experience operating FARO Arms (or similar portable CMMs) utilizing PowerInspect software.
Technical degree or certifications in Precision Measurement, Metrology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Statistical Skills: Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) software and data analysis.
