CNC Machinist

We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Vertical Borer Setter / Operator / Programmer to join a well-established engineering company based in Ashton-under-Lyne. This is a permanent opportunity for a skilled machinist with experience working on CNC Vertical Boring / Vertical Lathe machines, producing medium to heavy-sized components within a precision engineering environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating and programming CNC Vertical Borers using Fanuc control systems, with experience using Cimco CAD/CAM or Fusion software highly desirable. Key Responsibilities: * Setting, operating and programming CNC Vertical Boring / Vertical Lathe machines * Programming using Fanuc controls * Using Cimco CAD/CAM or Fusion software for programming (where applicable) * Working from customer drawings, specifications and engineering documentation * Machining medium to heavy workpieces to required standards * Carrying out self-inspection using appropriate measuring equipment * Ensuring quality, accuracy and consistency of finished components * Supporting overtime requirements when required Candidate Requirements: * Previous experience operating CNC Vertical Borers / Vertical Lathes * Strong experience setting and programming CNC machines * Knowledge of Fanuc control systems essential * Experience with Cimco CAD/CAM or Fusion software advantageous * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings * Experience machining medium to heavy components * Confident carrying out own inspection and quality checks * Willingness to work overtime when required The Role Offers: * Permanent position with a reputable engineering company * Excellent overtime earning potential * Opportunity to work on heavy engineering components * Long-term career opportunity within a skilled machining environment Apply today for immediate consideration
