CNC Machinist - EDM

We are looking for a CNC Machinist to join our client in Birmingham. You will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating a range of advanced manufacturing equipment, including multi-axis CNC milling machines, wire EDM, and sinker EDM equipment. Day Shift Hours opportunity for Overtime at time and a half £17-20 Per Hour Key Responsibilities Set up and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC milling machines. Program, set, and run wire EDM and sinker EDM machinery. Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications. Manufacture components to tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes. Select suitable tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies. Carry out in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment. Perform routine machine maintenance and basic fault finding. Collaborate with production teams to achieve delivery targets. Maintain excellent standards of quality, safety, and housekeeping.About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Proven experience in CNC machining, wire EDM, and sinker EDM. Strong knowledge of precision engineering principles. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T. Experience working to extremely tight tolerances. CNC programming and CAM software knowledge. Confidence using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, and gauges. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.Desirable Experience Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Precision Engineering qualifications. Experience with CAD/CAM software such as Fusion 360. Familiarity with Fanuc, Heidenhain, or Siemens control systems
