CNC Programmer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Horizontal Borer Setter / Operator / Programmer to join a well-established engineering company based in Ashton-under-Lyne. This is a permanent opportunity for a skilled machinist with experience working on CNC Horizontal Boring/Milling machines. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating and programming CNC horizontal borers using Heidenhain control systems, producing high-quality medium to heavy-sized components from customer drawings and specifications. Key Responsibilities: * Setting, operating and programming CNC Horizontal Boring/Milling machines * Working from detailed engineering drawings and customer specifications * Producing medium to heavy workpieces to a high standard * Carrying out self-inspection and ensuring components meet quality requirements * Working safely and efficiently within a busy engineering environment * Supporting overtime requirements when required Candidate Requirements: * Previous experience operating CNC Horizontal Boring/Milling machines * Strong experience with Heidenhain controls * Ability to set and programme machines independently * Confident reading and working from engineering drawings * Experience machining medium to heavy components * Ability to inspect own work using measuring equipment * Willingness to work overtime when required Shift Options Available: Day Shift * Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30 * Friday: 08:00 – 13:00 * 37 paid hours per week * Overtime available (minimum expectation of 11 hours per week) * Overtime paid at Time + 1/3 * Sundays paid at Time + 1/2 Night Shift * Monday – Thursday: 18:00 – 06:00 * 4 x 12-hour shifts * Paid lunch break included * Overtime available Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays * Overtime paid at Time + 1/2 This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Horizontal Borer to secure a long-term permanent position with strong overtime earning potential.
