CNC Programmer Operator

Thomas Rose Consultants are currently recruiting for a CNC Programmer Operator to join an established engineering and manufacturing company involved in the design and development of packaging equipment and machinery, located in South Derbyshire. The successful CNC Programmer Operator will join an existing CNC Engineering team and will be responsible for creating CNC programs, setting and operating CNC machinery to produce precision parts in martials such as aluminium, steel and plastics. Responsibilities: * Read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models. * Develop and optimise CNC programs. * Set up and calibrate CNC machines, including tool selection and part alignment * Determine appropriate tools, speeds, feeds, and cutting paths. * Simulate programs to identify and resolve potential issues before production. * Load raw materials and monitor machine operation throughout the production cycle. * Perform first-part inspections and make necessary adjustments. * Conduct in-process quality checks using micrometers, callipers, gauges, and inspection tools. * Perform basic machine maintenance and resolve any machinery issues. * Comply with health and safety standards as required Skills & Experience required: * Proven CNC programming and operating experience * Skilled in using machine controls such as Heidenhain and Siemens * CAM software experience in Powermill and Fusion. * Read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T and CAD models. * Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues * Identify faults and provide solutions * ability to work independently, safety, and maintain high-quality standards Salary, Hours & Benefits: * Pay: £17.43 to £18.12 per hour * Overtime rate: x1.5 after 38 hour * Hours: 38 hours per week – Days only * Flexible start times * Early finish Friday * 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays * 4% Pension Contribution * Onsite parking This is a great opportunity for a skilled CNC Programmer and Operator to join an innovative company who products are sold globally.
