CNC Programmer Location: Nottinghamshire Salary: Circa £40,000+ depending on experience Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am-4:30pm; Friday, 7:30am-1:30pm Job Type: Permanent The Opportunity An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Programmer to join a well-established and growing precision engineering business. The company manufactures high-integrity components for technically demanding sectors, including nuclear, defence, aerospace and oil and gas. This position would suit an experienced CNC professional looking for technically interesting work, greater ownership and the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of a successful engineering business. The Role As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for programming, supporting and developing CNC machining processes. Working closely with the production team, you will help ensure complex precision components are manufactured efficiently and consistently to demanding quality standards. Duties and Responsibilities Creating and developing CNC programs Completing both offline and online programming Supporting CNC setting and machining activities Working with 3, 4 and 5-axis machining processes Producing complex precision components to tight tolerances Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications Supporting the development of machining processes Working closely with the production team to maintain quality standards Assisting and developing colleagues where required Contributing to continuous improvement activities Candidate Requirements Strong CNC programming experience Experience with both offline and online programming Good CNC setting and machining knowledge Experience with 3, 4 or 5-axis machining Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications Strong understanding of precision machining and quality requirements Experience producing complex components to demanding tolerances Ability to work independently and take ownership of your work A proactive and supportive approach to teamworkExperience within nuclear, defence, aerospace, oil and gas or another high-integrity engineering environment would be highly advantageous. Previous experience working with specialist materials or within regulated manufacturing supply chains would also be beneficial.
