CNC Service Engineer / Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Job Title: Electrical CNC Maintenance Engineer Manchester based Flexible / Field-Based (UK travel as required) Contract Type: Permanent We are seeking an experienced Electrical CNC Maintenance Engineer to join our team. Key Responsibilities - Electrical CNC Maintenance Engineer Install and commission CNC machine tools and automation equipment Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic, and CNC control faults Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing Fault-find on CNC systems, servo drives, spindle drives, motors, PLCs, and safety circuits Support troubleshooting of CNC controls including Heidenhain, Siemens SINUMERIK and Fanuc Interpret electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and technical documentation Backup and restore CNC parameters and machine data Perform machine testing, calibration, and operational verification Provide technical support and training to customers Complete service reports and documentation accurately and promptly Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and site procedures Qualifications & Requirements - Electrical CNC Maintenance Engineer Proven experience servicing and repairing CNC machine tools Strong electrical and electronic fault-finding skills Hands-on experience with CNC controls including Heidenhain, Siemens SINUMERIK and Fanuc Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics Solid knowledge of servo systems, AC/DC drives, PLCs, and machine safety circuits Experience using electrical test equipment and OEM diagnostic tools Ability to work independently in a field-based environment Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel with overnight stays HNC/HND or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is desirable PLC programming knowledge (Siemens STEP 7 / TIA Portal) is advantageous What we can offer - Electrical CNC Maintenance Engineer Competitive salary circa £60,000 OTE Overtime opportunities Company vehicle Pension scheme Private healthcare Company bonus scheme Training and manufacturer courses Tools, laptop, and mobile phone provided Golden Line: Candidates who are currently an Electrical Field Service Engineer, CNC Service Engineer, CNC Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Field Service Engineer (Machine Tools) or similar may be suitable for this position.
