£600-650/day Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead the commissioning programme on a major Energy from Waste / High Temperature Incineration (HTI) facility in County Durham who has experience of combustion commissioning. This is a 5-month contract, deemed to fall outside of IR35, with a day rate of £600-650 depending on experience. The project runs from mid-to-late August through to December/January and requires someone who can take ownership of commissioning from mechanical completion through to final performance testing and operational handover. This is not a role for someone who has only supported commissioning. The successful Commissioning Manager will have a proven track record of leading commissioning activities on complex process plants and be comfortable taking technical and programme ownership from day one. Key aspects of the Commissioning Manager role include; Leading the complete commissioning programme from mechanical completion through cold commissioning, hot commissioning, first fire, performance testing and final handover Managing multidisciplinary teams covering mechanical, electrical, controls, instrumentation and process engineering Owning commissioning plans, schedules, system handovers, readiness reviews and commissioning documentation Leading loop checks, instrument calibration, PLC, DCS and SCADA testing activities Managing first fire, kiln warm-up, hot commissioning and plant optimisation Driving performance testing, emissions compliance and operational acceptance Working closely with EPC contractors, specialist vendors, operations and senior management throughout the project Ensuring commissioning activities are delivered safely whilst maintaining programme and regulatory compliance The successful Commissioning Manager is likely to have experience knowledge of some of the following; Energy from Waste (EfW) High Temperature Incineration (HTI) Rotary kilns Thermal treatment plants Waste management Biomass Power generation Process plants Chemical plants Heavy industrial commissioning The Commissioning Manager will ideally have experience with; Boilers and combustion systems PLC, DCS and SCADA control systems Electrical and instrumentation commissioning Safety systems and process control Functional testing and performance acceptance HAZOP, PSSR and commissioning documentation Managing large multidisciplinary commissioning teams Contractor management and stakeholder coordination This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commissioning Manager looking for a technically challenging contract where theyll take complete ownership of commissioning a complex industrial facility through to successful handover.
