Complex EL/PL Solicitor (2+ PQE)

Your new company Our client is a highly regarded national law firm seeking a Complex EL/PL Solicitor to join its Manchester office.

The firm has an established reputation within the insurance market and advises a broad range of insurer, corporate and public sector clients on complex casualty claims.

Your new role You will handle a caseload of complex Employers' Liability and Public Liability claims, including litigated and higher-value matters.

Key responsibilities

• Managing a caseload of complex EL/PL claims from instruction through to conclusion.
• Investigating liability, causation and quantum issues.
• Preparing detailed legal advice and litigation strategies for insurer clients.
• Drafting pleadings, applications, witness statements and settlement documentation.
• Liaising with counsel, experts, insurers and insured clients.
• Negotiating settlements and attending court hearings where appropriate.
• Assisting with mentoring junior team members and contributing to business development activities.

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified Solicitor with 2+ years’ PQE. Experience handling defendant EL/PL claims (preferable) Strong technical litigation skills and a sound understanding of EL/PL claims.
• Experience of managing complex and higher-value matters.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• A client-focused and commercially minded approach.
