What you'll be doing:
Lead and manage compliance across Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV), air quality monitoring and water sampling, ensuring regulatory and company standards are consistently maintained.
Oversee LEV testing, examination and maintenance, working with site teams, competent persons, maintenance teams and external contractors.
Monitor and report on compliance KPIs, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving continuous improvement across the contract.
Act as the key point of contact for occupational hygiene, including hazardous substance risk assessments, COSHH assessments and exposure control.
Investigate and report on LEV failures, exposure exceedances and legal non-conformities, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
Support environmental and sustainability compliance, including air emissions, water discharge, hazardous waste and environmental monitoring.
What we're looking for:
Proven experience managing LEV systems and environmental monitoring within a large or complex organisation, with a track record of delivering improvements.
Strong knowledge of COSHH regulations, HSE HSG258, occupational exposure limits and hazardous substance control.
Experience and technical knowledge of LEV system design, testing and maintenance, alongside air and water sampling methodologies.
Strong understanding of risk assessment, control hierarchy and regulatory compliance, with the ability to investigate and resolve non-conformances.
Excellent communication, relationship management, project management and continuous improvement skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across the business.
Relevant professional qualifications or memberships, ideally including NEBOSH, BOHS/AFOH or IOSH, with relevant occupational hygiene and LEV qualifications.
