Consultant Anaesthetist: NHS Elective Surgery Hub

Job summary

One Health is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consultant Anaesthetist to join our surgical team at the One Health Elective Surgery Hub, North Lincolnshire.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an established and expanding independent healthcare provider delivering high-quality elective surgical services for NHS patients. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing expert anaesthetic care, supporting service development, and ensuring the delivery of outstanding patient outcomes within a dedicated elective surgery environment.

This is a full-time employed position, working Monday to Friday, based primarily at:

Salary will be in line with the NHS Consultant pay scale, depending on experience.

Applicants should be experienced substantive NHS Consultants, be included on the GMC Specialist Register, and hold unrestricted GMC registration and licence to practise.

Main duties of the job

The role will involve providing comprehensive anaesthetic services for NHS patients referred to One Health.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing high-quality anaesthetic care for elective surgical patients.

Undertaking pre-operative assessment, optimisation and perioperative management.

Supporting post-operative recovery and pain management.

Working collaboratively with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, effective patient care.

Maintaining accurate clinical records and complying with clinical governance and regulatory requirements.

Contributing to service development, audit and quality improvement activities.

Supporting appraisal, revalidation and a culture of continuous clinical excellence.

Job responsibilities

One Health is seeking an experienced Consultant Anaesthetist to join its surgical team at the One Health Elective Surgery Hub North Lincolnshire.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality anaesthetic assessment, perioperative care and support for NHS patients undergoing elective surgical procedures, contributing to excellent clinical outcomes and patient experience. The role offers an opportunity to become an integral part of a growing service, working within a dedicated elective surgical environment supported by experienced clinical, operational and administrative teams.

The post holder will contribute to service development, quality improvement and clinical governance activities, helping to ensure that One Health continues to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care across the region.

Person specification

Experience

Essential

• Full GMC registration and Specialist Register status in Anaesthesia.
• 12 months+ experience as a substantive or locum NHS Consultant.
• Proven experience providing anaesthetic services within NHS and/or independent practice.
• Excellent clinical, communication and team-working skills.

Desirable

• Fellowship training or a specialist interest relevant to elective surgery.
• Experience developing anaesthetic or perioperative services.
