Job Description Consultant Psychiatrist – Acute Care Adult Mental Health Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) Contract Type: Permanent | Full-Time Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist in Acute Care Adult Mental Health to join the well-established multidisciplinary team based at the Ablett Psychiatric Unit in North Wales. This role covers inpatient acute care and Home Treatment Team (HTT) services across Conwy and Denbighshire, providing consultant leadership within a collaborative and supportive acute care model. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced consultants, Approved Clinicians, trainees, psychologists, pharmacists, occupational therapists, and nursing teams delivering high-quality patient-centred care. Deliver psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and risk management Act as Responsible Clinician for acute mental health patients Support multidisciplinary team leadership and clinical supervision Participate in Mental Health Act work and tribunal attendance Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register (or within 6 months of CCT) Experience working within acute adult mental health services What’s on Offer: ~ 10 PA contract plus 1:13 on-call rota enhancement Strong academic links with Bangor University Opportunity to work within one of the largest health boards in Wales If you are a Consultant Psychiatrist looking for your next opportunity within acute adult mental health services, we would welcome a confidential discussion.
