Priory Hospital Preston has an opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team on our eating disorders unit. This role is offered on a Part Time basis working 22.5 hours per week. Pro Rata salary for this role is £108,528 

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.

  • Provide clinical leadership and take overall responsibility for patient care.
  • Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk assessments, strategic reviews, and therapeutic planning.
  • Act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
  • Oversee referrals, admissions, and contribute to pre-admission assessments.
  • Provide specialist psychiatric expertise to multidisciplinary assessment, formulation, and treatment planning.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Applicants must hold MRCPsych (or an equivalent qualification), a CCT (or equivalent) and be included on the GMC Specialist Register, along with Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status. They must demonstrate clinical knowledge, skills, and experience relevant to the speciality, the ability to work within and lead a team, and a commitment to shared leadership, collaborative working, and service improvement. Candidates should also have evidence of ongoing continuous professional development.
