Consultant Psychiatrist - Wellingborough/East Northants CMHT
Job summary
Full time Consultant Psychiatrist.
The post holder will provide psychiatrist outpatient care for adults aged 18-65 in the Wellingborough and East Northants CMHT
Main duties of the job
o Provide clinical leadership to the team and take clinical responsibility for the assessment and treatment of patients as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team.
o Clinics for assessing new referrals, medication reviews for patients in the team and reviews.
o Supervision of MDT colleagues around cases they are managing
o Oversee the medication and care of patients in the depot and clozapine clinics
o Undertake Mental Health Act assessments on patients from within the sector
o Be the Responsible Clinician for patients detained under a Community Treatment Order

Knowldege and Experience
Essential
- oFull GMC Registration
- oOn Specialist Register) for General Adult Psychiatry or eligible for inclusion within six months.
- oApproval under Section12 of the Mental Health Act.
- Approved Clinician status (? or eligible within six months- to match the specialist register requirement above)

- oAdditional Postgraduate Qualifications
- oPublication of original research
- oManagement training
Skills and Abilities
Essential
- oExcellent written and verbal communication skills
- oEvidence of the ability to communicate with patients, colleagues and staff at all levels.
- oAbility to present complex information to a variety of audiences including courts and tribunals
- oAbility to motivate and develop other medical colleagues and other MDT members
- oTo balance individual requirements against those of the Directorate and Trust as a whole
- oAn understanding of the political and financial framework within which the Services operate
- oAble to meet duties under MHA and MCA
- oPost holder will need to take initiative and work in a self-directed manner.
Desirable
- oWide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service
- oAble to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post
- oExperienced in clinical research and / or service evaluation
