This is a rare opportunity for a Contentious Probate Solicitor to join a well-established regional firm in Sale.
With the support of a strong litigation team, you’ll have the chance to shape, develop and ultimately lead a brand-new contentious probate offering from the ground up.

Who we’re looking for
- Qualified Solicitor with 2+ years’ contentious probate experience
- Able to manage your own caseload independently
- Strong client-care, communication and negotiation skills
- Experience handling disputes involving wills, probate and Inheritance Act claims
- Ambitious, commercially aware and excited about building a team
- Skilled in mediation, negotiation and resolution-focused litigation
- Confident advising executors, beneficiaries and trustees
- Strong relationship-builder with empathy and professionalism
What you’ll be doing
- Manage a varied contentious probate caseload
- Advise and represent clients at all stages from pre-action to court proceedings
- Draft pleadings, witness statements and settlement documents
- Lead negotiations, mediations and litigation strategy
- Work collaboratively with a supportive litigation department
- Develop internal and external referral networks
- Help shape and build a dedicated contentious probate team
- Contribute to department strategy, client development and service delivery
