This is a rare opportunity for a Contentious Probate Solicitor to join a well-established regional firm in Sale.

With the support of a strong litigation team, you’ll have the chance to shape, develop and ultimately lead a brand-new contentious probate offering from the ground up.

Who we’re looking for

  • Qualified Solicitor with 2+ years’ contentious probate experience
  • Able to manage your own caseload independently
  • Strong client-care, communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience handling disputes involving wills, probate and Inheritance Act claims
  • Ambitious, commercially aware and excited about building a team
  • Skilled in mediation, negotiation and resolution-focused litigation
  • Confident advising executors, beneficiaries and trustees
  • Strong relationship-builder with empathy and professionalism

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage a varied contentious probate caseload
  • Advise and represent clients at all stages from pre-action to court proceedings
  • Draft pleadings, witness statements and settlement documents
  • Lead negotiations, mediations and litigation strategy
  • Work collaboratively with a supportive litigation department
  • Develop internal and external referral networks
  • Help shape and build a dedicated contentious probate team
  • Contribute to department strategy, client development and service delivery
