Contract Management Lead / Category Management Lead (Transformation) Location: Bedfordshire Rates: £500 to £600 per day Contract: Interim / Contract Start Date: Immediate We are seeking an experienced Contract Management Lead or Category Management Lead to support a major transformation programme within a public sector organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished commercial professional with extensive experience of delivering procurement, contract management and category management improvements while embedding sustainable, long-term change across complex organisations. Key responsibilities Lead strategic commercial transformation initiatives. Deliver improved commercial outcomes through effective governance, process assurance and knowledge transfer. Design and implement contract management strategies, methodologies and frameworks across the organisation. Develop and embed category management methodologies to identify both immediate and long-term savings opportunities. Deliver training, coaching and mentoring programmes to build internal capability. Implement contract segmentation models, including gold, silver and bronze classifications, and establish appropriate management frameworks for each category. Design and introduce standardised templates, guidance documents and processes to ensure consistency across teams. Work closely with procurement teams and senior stakeholders to embed lasting improvements.Essential skills and experience Proven experience leading commercial transformation programmes. Strong background in public sector procurement, contract management and category management. Demonstrable experience delivering sustainable improvements and embedding organisational change. Expertise in strategic sourcing, governance and commercial best practice. Experience designing and delivering training and mentoring programmes. Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills.Candidates must be available to start immediately.
