Experience with conveyors, motors, pneumatics, drives, sensors, presses, hoppers, silos & basic Electrical PLCs? Preventive maintenance? Quick turnaround repairs during high-volume peaksYou'll play a key role in maintenance and fitting tasks, supporting production line maintenance and improvement projects while ensuring equipment uptime and performance.Contract Mechanical Maintenance EngineerCarry out maintenance of mechanical fittings to support production and maintenance activitiesPerform planned and reactive maintenance across production machinery, including conveyors, motors, and drivesSupport the plant and automated systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and handling equipmentAttend to breakdowns promptly, delivering fast, safe, and effective mechanical repairsAssist in modification and improvement projects on process lines and production equipmentContribute to continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring reliability and performance targets are achievedMaintain safe working practices and uphold engineering standards across all tasksQualifications & Requirements Contract Mechanical Maintenance EngineerTime-served apprentice or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related disciplinePrevious experience in a process production or manufacturing environment – ideally with conveyors, motors, drives, etcAbility to read engineering drawings and work independently on maintenance or modification projectsA proactive, problem-solving approach and commitment to continuous improvementComputer-literate with a good understanding of maintenance reporting systemsWhat's on Offer - Contract Mechanical Maintenance EngineerCompetitive £36–38 per hour rate (Outside IR35)Monday–Friday, primarily 9-hour rotating shiftsOpportunity to work at a well-invested siteFree onsite parkingChance to contribute to high-profile production projectsFor more information, contact Mike Butler on or emailCandidates with backgrounds as a Contract Mechanical Fitter, Contract Multi-Skilled maintenance engineer, Mechanical maintenance engineer, Limited Company Contractor, Self-employed contract Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Contract Engineer, should be suitable.
