Contract Backend Engineer (.NET)
Overview
Ocho is supporting a Belfast-based technology team as they expand a critical engineering function focused on modernising and enhancing a suite of enterprise platforms.
They are looking for a Contract Backend Engineer with strong .NET experience to help deliver scalable services and backend components across a fast-moving product environment. You'll join an established Agile team working on highly transactional systems with a strong focus on reliability, performance and clean engineering practices.
This is a largely remote contract with occasional in-person collaboration required.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and enhance backend services using C# and .NET
- Develop APIs and integrations across distributed systems
- Work closely with engineers, QA and product teams to deliver new functionality
- Improve application performance, scalability and reliability
- Contribute to technical discussions and solution design
- Support best practices across testing, code quality and deployment
Person We Are Looking For
- Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET development
- Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services
- Understanding of scalable system design and modern software architecture
- Exposure to cloud-hosted environments and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable contributing within Agile engineering teams
Contract Details
- Outside IR35
- Initial 8-month contract
- Belfast-based organisation
