Contracts Manager – Groundworks & Civils

We are working with an established groundworks and civil engineering contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to join their growing team.
This is a key role responsible for overseeing multiple groundworks and civil engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme, to a high standard and in line with commercial requirements.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for:
* Managing multiple groundworks and civil engineering projects from pre-start through to completion.
* Overseeing Site Managers, Supervisors, subcontractors and site teams.
* Ensuring projects are delivered to programme, budget and required quality standards.
* Managing client relationships and attending regular progress meetings.
* Reviewing programmes, RAMS, construction plans and project documentation.
* Coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
* Monitoring project performance and identifying potential delays or issues.
* Supporting commercial management, valuations, variations and cost control.
* Ensuring compliance with health & safety and environmental requirements.
* Working closely with the commercial and operational teams to ensure successful project delivery.
* Providing leadership and support to site teams across multiple projects.
About You
We are looking for someone with a strong background in groundworks, civil engineering or construction, ideally with previous experience managing multiple projects.
You should have:
* Proven experience as a Contracts Manager, Senior Site Manager, Project Manager or similar.
* Experience within groundworks/civils.
* Strong understanding of construction programmes and project delivery.
* Experience managing subcontractors, labour and plant.
* Good client-facing and communication skills.
* Strong commercial awareness.
* Good understanding of construction health & safety requirements.
* Relevant construction management qualifications such as SMSTS/NVQ Level 6 would be advantageous.
* Full UK driving licence
