Company Description The Brightwell, incorporating The West of England MS Therapy Centre, is a Charity based in Bradley Stoke, Bristol, supporting people living with chronic neurological conditions for over 40 years. The Centre provides a warm, friendly, non-clinical environment that is fully accessible, with free parking and attractive outdoor spaces. It offers a wide range of subsidised therapies, specialising in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) and neuro-physiotherapy, delivered by a physiotherapy team with expert knowledge of diverse neurological conditions. Members can access one-to-one and group physiotherapy, exercise classes, online sessions, and specialist therapies such as FES, counselling, acupuncture, reflexology, remedial massage, aromatherapy, foot health, amongst others. The Brightwell is keen to develop new corporate partnerships through its corporate fundraising arm, The Brightwell 100, welcoming financial support, donated goods or services, and volunteering.

Role Description The Corporate & Events Fundraiser and Fundraising Department Lead is a full-time, on-site role based at The Brightwell in Bradley Stoke. This role is responsible for developing and delivering corporate fundraising strategies, including identifying and approaching potential corporate partners, managing relationships with existing supporters, and promoting The Brightwell 100.

The role is varied and day-to-day tasks include planning, organising, and evaluating fundraising events, drafting proposals and presentations, preparing funding reports, and managing budgets related to fundraising activities. The role also involves leading the fundraising department, providing guidance to staff and volunteers, monitoring performance against targets, and ensuring excellent supporter care and stewardship. The postholder will collaborate closely with the wider team to raise the charity’s profile, create engaging fundraising campaigns, and contribute to sustainable income growth.

Person Specification

  • Candidates should possess strong analytical skills and finance skills to develop budgets, interpret fundraising data, and assess the impact of campaigns and partnerships.
  • Candidates should possess excellent communication skills to engage corporate partners, present proposals, negotiate support, and build long-term stakeholder relationships.
  • Candidates should possess solid customer service skills to deliver high-quality supporter care, respond promptly to enquiries, and represent the charity professionally at all times.
  • Candidates should possess Training skills to lead, support, and upskill fundraising staff and volunteers, and to share best practices across the department.
  • Experience in corporate fundraising, events management, or charity sector income generation is highly beneficial.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events and partnerships simultaneously.
  • Comfort working on-site in a busy, member-focused environment, with empathy for people living with long-term health conditions. xwzovoh
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to travel independently to local meetings and events.
