Customer Services Team Leader Worksop – starting salary c.£30,000 Working Monday to Friday on a 4-week rotating shift pattern: 06:00–14:30, 08:30–17:00, 06:00–14:30; 12:00–20:30, the customer services team leader will work in a busy customs operation supporting the smooth movement of goods between the UK and EU. This is a great opportunity for a people-focused team leader with customer service experience who wants to develop their career in a specialist and growing area of logistics and customs. You’ll lead a team responsible for ensuring customer declarations are completed accurately and on time, helping customers navigate the customs process and making sure service levels, compliance and quality standards are consistently met. Full training will be provided, so this role could suit an experienced customer service team leader looking to step into a customs-focused environment. Key responsibilities Lead, organise and support the team to deliver daily customs-related customer service activities Ensure customer declarations and associated administration are completed accurately and within required timescales Respond to customer queries efficiently across email, portals and internal systems Maintain compliance with customs procedures and current legislation Monitor team performance, quality and service standards Plan staffing across shifts, identifying issues early and escalating where needed Coach and develop team members to build capability, confidence and performance Promote a positive, quality-focused and customer-centric working culture Oversee the end-to-end flow of activity to ensure work is completed in the right order and goods move without unnecessary delay About you To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: Experience leading or supervising a team within a customer service environment Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced operation Confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and CRM-style platforms A strong eye for detail and commitment to accuracy The ability to coach, motivate and support others A proactive approach to problem-solving and service delivery Experience of customs processes, duty and VAT calculations would be an advantage, but is not essential, as full training will be given.
