We're recruiting on behalf of a public sector organisation for a Data Management Officer to support a high-profile Protected Sites Programme. This role will play a key part in managing and improving data that supports the protection and management of environmentally important sites across Wales.
Working within a specialist asset management system, you'll be responsible for maintaining data quality, supporting users, producing reports and insights, and contributing to ongoing system improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop the Protected Sites database, ensuring data accuracy, integrity and completeness.
- Produce and distribute reports, performance metrics and external data outputs.
- Develop and enhance reporting capabilities using Power BI.
- Undertake data quality assurance activities and work with stakeholders to resolve data issues.
- Provide user support, guidance and training.
- Review and update system documentation and user guidance.
- Monitor and help resolve system issues, working closely with ICT teams and suppliers.
- Support system enhancements, testing and user feedback through Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data management processes and user experience.
About You
- Experience in data management, data administration or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of data quality and data governance principles.
- Experience producing reports and insights using Power BI.
- Excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) would be advantageous.
- Experience with AMX or similar asset management systems is desirable but not essential.
