Applications are invited from commited and experienced Registered Nurses, Allied Health Professionals or Social Workers to join the Adult Learning Disabilities Complex Residential team as Band 6 Deputy Manager within the Adult Learning Disabilities Service on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.

The site is a newly opened purpose-built facility providing support for 14 Service Users in single self-contained flats.

The flats are in a fantastic location - flat for wheelchair users near the beach, shops and cafés and access to bus routes.

Well-equipped and appointed with key considerations for Service Users with profound leaning and physical disabilities; safely enclosed garden, ceiling track hoists and sensory-sensitive colour schemes.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake the assessment of service users with complex needs.
  • Guide, advise and direct other staff in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care received by service users.
  • Contribute to the recruitment and retention of team members.
  • Undertake the professional development review process with identified team members.
  • Support staff with performance issues by developing a plan to address developmental needs.
  • Act as a professional role model for junior staff, promoting high standards of practice and strong professional values.
  • Act up as necessary in the absence of the manager.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse, Social Worker or Allied Health Professional with full UK professional registration.
  • At least two years current or recent UK experience leading a Learning Disabilities service at senior Band 5 or Band 6 level.
  • Completion of a recognised Teaching and Assessing/Mentorship qualification.
  • To hold a UK driving licence.

Benefits

  • Guernsey Band 6 salary range is £47,860 to £64,615 plus an annual bonus of £1,747 and higher unsocial hours enhancements; 36% evening/Saturday and 72% Sunday/BH.
