A high?quality children & young people's residential care service in Doncaster is seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in leading a safe, nurturing and well?run home. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong childcare experience who is ready to step into a senior leadership role within a regulated residential setting.
About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in overseeing all aspects of residential care for children and young people, ensuring the home operates in line with Ofsted regulations, group policies and best practice. You will act as senior on duty and take full responsibility for the home in the Registered Manager's absence.

You will provide leadership, guidance and decision?making to ensure high standards of care, strong safeguarding practice and effective staff performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day to day care in line with Children's Homes Regulations and group policies
Supervise and support staff, including Key Workers, ensuring effective assessment, monitoring and planning for each child
Maintain accurate casework records and ensure sound decisions are made and followed
Compile written reports and contribute to case conferences, reviews and planning meetings
Support administrative functions, including delegated tasks, staff admin oversight and rota preparation
Assist with budget management and financial control within the home
Participate in staff development, training, supervision and induction of new staff
Prepare and organise staff meetings when required
Contribute to group?wide childcare practice, including attending Heads of Homes meetings
Essential Requirements
Minimum 3 years' experience in a residential child care setting
NVQ Level 3 in Care (or equivalent)
Experience with administrative duties such as rota preparation, recording and report writing
Strong childcare knowledge, including children's rights, child development and current childcare law
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to make effective decisions and lead staff
Desirable
Experience managing staff, including supervision, appraisal and induction
NVQ Level 4 or 5 in Leadership & Management
Understanding of management styles and childcare planning
Computer literacy
