Deputy Manager Childrens Home Deputy Manager Required We are seeking an experienced and committed Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in leading a solo childrens residential home for a young person with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker, Team Leader or current Deputy Manager who is ready to take on greater leadership responsibility within a supportive and progressive organisation.

About the Role As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to maintain high standards of care, safeguarding and regulatory compliance.

You will provide visible leadership, support staff development and help create a stable, nurturing and therapeutic environment.

As this is a solo home, the successful candidate must understand the importance of consistent staffing, careful risk management, strong relationships and personalised care planning.

Key Responsibilities Support the Registered Manager with the effective day-to-day management of the home.

Provide leadership, guidance and support to the residential care team.

Lead by example and promote high standards of child-centred care.

Ensure the young person is supported in line with their care plan, placement plan and risk assessments.

Promote positive outcomes in education, health, emotional wellbeing and independence.

Support staff with behaviour management, de-escalation and trauma-informed practice.

Ensure safeguarding concerns are identified, reported and managed appropriately.

Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals and performance reviews where required.

Support staff training, development and reflective practice.

Assist with rota planning and ensure safe staffing levels are maintained.

Oversee accurate record keeping, daily logs, incident reports and regulatory documentation.

Support the Registered Manager with audits, quality assurance and monitoring.

Maintain effective relationships with social workers, families, schools, therapists and external professionals.

Support referrals, admissions and placement planning where appropriate.

Deputise for the Registered Manager during periods of absence.

Support the home in meeting the Childrens Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.

Contribute to preparation for Ofsted inspections.

Promote a positive, accountable and supportive culture within the home.

Essential Requirements Experience working within a childrens residential home.

Experience supporting children and young people with EBD, trauma or challenging behaviour.

Previous experience as a Senior Residential Support Worker, Team Leader, Deputy Manager or in a similar leadership role.

Experience leading shifts and supporting staff.

Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.

Knowledge of the Childrens Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.

Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.

The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

A full UK driving licence.

Qualifications Essential Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, Children and Young Peoples Workforce, or an equivalent qualification.

Desirable Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards it.

Training in trauma-informed practice, Positive Behaviour Support or approved physical intervention.

Salary and Benefits Salary from £37,000 to £45,000 per annum.

Salary dependent on experience and qualifications.

Monday-to-Friday working pattern, 09:0017:00.
