Design Manager | Main Contractor | Public Sector | Permanent   The Role: This isn’t a role where you’re handed a stack of drawings and told to “make it work.” Design Managers are at the heart of the pre-construction and delivery process here — given the time and space to coordinate design, solve challenges early, and add real value.   You’ll lead the design process from tender through to handover, working closely with clients, consultants, and the in-house team to deliver high-quality projects the right way — not just the quickest way.   The Projects: • Main contractor schemes in education, community, and specialist sectors • Typical values £5m – £20m (with flexibility for key clients) Buyers handle procurement — you focus on the commercial strategy • Preferred contractor for multiple clients, with £300m+ of live and upcoming work  What they’re looking for: Main contractor or design & build project experience Strong coordination skills across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines Ability to lead design workshops, resolve technical queries, and ensure buildability Team-player mindset — collaboration is at the core of everything they do Experience with education or public sector projects is a bonus, but not essential  The Company: This  is a forward-thinking main contractor with a, energetic culture and a selective approach to projects.
