Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated individual to join the Radiography team working within the Plain Film Advancing Practice Team as a Band 6 Radiographer.

Main duties of the job

To provide day to day leadership for Radiographers and assistants within plain film

To contribute to a 7 day working rota

To deputise for the Team Manager Plain Film in their absence

To undertake all radiographic procedures and duties as required

To be responsible for training Radiographers in Fluoroscopy

To ensure all QA is completed

To manage any required audits

To work as Shift coordinator in the main department

To assist in the training of students

To adhere to all relevant legislation

To undertake other relevant duties that may be delegated

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Bsc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography
  • State Registration with HCPC
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Knowledge

Essential

  • A sound knowledge of radiographic clinical practice
  • Knowledge of current radiographic and wider healthcare issues
  • Knowledge in evaluation of relevant advanced knowledge of QA and audit programmes
  • Knowledge of current data protection legislation
  • Ability to prioritise own workload as well as that of others
  • Advanced skills with specific Radiology and Imaging applications

Desirable

  • Knowledge of advancing practice and currently practicing in work

Skills

Essential

  • High level of manual dexterity and co-ordination
  • Ability to establish and maintain reliable working relationships
  • Information Technology Skills
  • Interpersonal skills with staff
  • Sound, effective leadership skills

Training Experience

Essential

  • Establish and maintain a professional interest in teaching and learning
