The business plays a critical role in essential UK infrastructure and is entering its next phase of growth, underpinned by a clear strategic plan, an active refinancing and capital markets agenda, and ambitions to secure a public credit rating ahead of an inaugural benchmark bond issuance.

About the Role

This is a senior leadership role responsible for leading investor (equity and debt) engagement and owning the Group’s corporate financial model. The role is the primary interface with the Group’s private equity shareholder and supports engagement with the external lender group, ensuring clear, consistent and data-led communication of performance, strategy, funding requirements and value creation. It also provides critical financial insight to support capital allocation, long term planning, refinancing activity and strategic decision making – with a clear potential progression path to CFO.



Key Responsibilities:


Investor Relations

  • First point of contact for all investors on financial and operational reporting, budgeting and strategic commercial projects, supporting the CFO in maintaining strong lender relationships
  • Support the CFO and CEO in all investor, shareholder and lender-related interactions
  • Own production of investor materials, including Board packs, shareholder updates, lender reporting and funding related communications
  • Develop a clear and consistent equity and credit story linking strategy, performance, funding requirements and returns
  • Own the credit ratings workstream – from agencies’ rating evaluation / assessment services (RES/RAS) through to securing public credit ratings, and lead preparation for an inaugural benchmark bond issuance
  • Support communications on covenant, liquidity, refinancing and capital structure matters


Value Creation

  • Own and develop the Group’s corporate financial model to drive long term value creation, including the 5 year business plan and assessment of organic / inorganic growth opportunities
  • Provide valuation overlay and sensitivity analysis to support financial decision-making and capital allocation at executive and board level



Required Experience

  • Background in either: investment banking / M&A looking to transition to a corporate role with xwzovoh greater ownership and impact vis-a-vis private equity investors; or corporate strategy / corporate finance at board-1 / board-2 level
  • Outstanding track record and results in role to date
  • Practical experience in financial and operational reporting and project management
  • Experience effectively managing capital allocation at a strategic / managerial level
  • Experience working with private equity investors, ideally within an infrastructure-backed environment
  • Advanced financial modelling expertise, with a strong understanding of valuation, IRR-based decision-making, and capital structure / funding considerations
  • Ability to distil complex financial analysis into clear, investor- and lender-ready messaging
  • Credible at Board, investor and lender level, with strong judgement, commercial acumen and a clear, concise communication style
