Job summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic property leader to join our organisation as Head of Property. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of our Property Implementation Plan, ensuring that our estate supports the Trust's strategic objectives and enhances the experience of patients, service users, staff and communities.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Property, you will provide inspirational leadership to the Property Team, using the physical environment as a key enabler of high-quality service delivery. You will ensure our estate is safe, sustainable, flexible, fit for purpose and delivers value for money, supporting both current and future healthcare needs.

Main duties of the job

Accountable for the operational and strategic management of the Trust's property assets, capital investment programme and facilities services such that the needs of the Trust's core activities are consistently met.

Supporting the Executive Director of Property in taking opportunities for integration with the wider system capital allocation, efficient procurement and prudent allocation of financial and staff resources to maintain and manage safe environments and sound asset management and financial principles.

Responsible for the effective management of the property revenue and capital budgets as well as developing a capital investment strategy, preserving the value of the Trusts assets, adding to the portfolio as necessary and releasing land when it is surplus to requirements. This role is responsible for a revenue budget of £16m, assets worth £80m and projects up to £50m.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Post graduate qualification or equivalent professional specialist knowledge, evidenced through membership of a professional surveying, engineering, construction, architectural, project management or similar chartered institution

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience in a senior leadership role
  • Extensive experience in a senior property role with a diverse range of locations and environments
  • Delivery of organisational change or transformation or estates rationalisation projects
  • Delivery of significant property construction projects and asset acquisition or disposals
  • Financial management of budgets up to £15m
