Role: Electrical Assembly & Test Technician Location: Bedfordshire Hours: Monday to Friday, 39 hours a week Salary: £34,500 - £40,500 An excellent opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Electrical Assembly & Test Technician to join a well-established client based in Bedfordshire. Duties of an Electrical Assembly & Test Technician: Wiring and connecting complete electrical systems across machinery, including sensors, motors, actuators, and interconnects. Carrying out functional testing, I/O checks, and basic fault-finding prior to commissioning. Verifying signal paths and validating safe operation before software upload or HMI integration. Reading and working from electrical schematics, layout drawings, and structured BOMs. Supporting electrical installation tasks around the factory, including lighting circuits, distribution boards, and equipment upgrades. Assisting with new machinery installations and electrical improvement projects within production areas. Collaborating with other departments during machine build, including routing, alignment, and system integration activities. Maintaining clear and safe working practices while delivering consistent, professional-quality builds. What we would like from you: Solid background in machine wiring or industrial electrical assembly. Skilled in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and wiring documentation. Practical experience with control devices, drives, sensors, and motors, including DOL and VFD configurations. Confident in identifying and resolving electrical faults during build and testing. Flexible in adapting between workshop build tasks and electrical support work. Positive attitude, good team-working skills, and strong attention to workmanship quality. Electrical installation experience within industrial, commercial, or domestic environments would be desirable. Recognised qualifications such as 18th Edition or equivalent would be advantageous. Exposure to automation systems, PLC/HMI architecture, or drive commissioning tools would be beneficial. Experience within food machinery, process equipment, or OEM manufacturing environments would be advantageous.
