️ We’re Hiring: Electrical Craftsperson 🛠️🔌⚡ 📍 Birmingham 💷 Competitive Salary 🕒 Full-Time | Permanent ☎️ On-Call Rota | Approximately 1 in 9/10 ⏱️ Overtime Available We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Craftsperson to join a busy engineering and maintenance team in Birmingham. ⚡ This is an excellent opportunity for a fully qualified, apprentice-trained electrician with strong practical experience across electrical installations, repairs, testing, maintenance and fault finding. The role will involve supporting the day-to-day electrical maintenance of the site, ensuring electrical systems and assets remain safe, compliant and fully operational. 🔧 What You’ll Be Doing: 🔌 Carrying out general electrical installations, repairs and maintenance across the site. 💡 Installing, repairing and replacing sockets, switches, lamps and other electrical components. 🛠️ Carrying out retrofitting and replacement of electrical components and equipment. ⚡ Undertaking electrical rewiring and modification works to existing assets and systems. 🚨 Installing, testing and maintaining emergency lighting systems. 📋 Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with schedules and site requirements. 🔲 Inspecting and carrying out checks on fuse boards and distribution equipment. 🧪 Undertaking PAT testing and associated remedial works. ⚡ Carrying out RCD testing and electrical safety checks. 🔍 Diagnosing electrical faults and completing repairs safely and efficiently. 📑 Completing maintenance records, test results, job sheets and associated compliance documentation accurately. 🦺 Working safely at all times and following relevant Health & Safety procedures, electrical regulations and safe systems of work. 🚨 Responding to reactive maintenance requests and electrical faults as required. ☎️ Participating in an on-call rota of approximately 1 in 9/10 to support out-of-hours maintenance requirements. ⏱️ Supporting additional overtime when required and available. 🤝 Working closely with colleagues, supervisors and other engineering disciplines to ensure reliable site operations. 👨‍🔧 What We’re Looking For: 🎓 A completed Electrical Apprenticeship with relevant electrical qualifications. ⚡ 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification. 🛠️ AM2 qualification. 🔧 Strong hands-on experience in electrical installation, maintenance and repair. 💡 Practical experience working with sockets, switches, lighting, lamps and electrical components. 🚨 Experience with emergency lighting installation, testing and maintenance. 🧪 Experience carrying out PAT testing and RCD testing. 🔲 Knowledge and practical experience of fuse boards, distribution equipment and electrical systems. 🔍 Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills. 📖 Good understanding of electrical regulations, compliance and safe working practices. 📋 Good attention to detail with the ability to complete maintenance and testing documentation accurately. 🧠 Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and respond effectively to reactive maintenance requirements. 💬 Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider engineering team. 🚗 A full UK driving licence is required. ☎️ Flexibility and willingness to participate in an on-call rota. ⭐ Desirable: ✔️ Previous experience within Facilities Management, Building Services, Engineering, Manufacturing or Industrial environments ✔️ Experience carrying out electrical PPMs ✔️ Experience with emergency lighting systems ✔️ Experience with electrical testing and inspection ✔️ Experience working within a multi-skilled engineering or facilities team ✔️ Additional electrical or maintenance qualifications 🔐 Important Requirements: 🛂 This position requires a DBS Standard check, therefore the successful candidate must be able to satisfy the requirements of the check. 🎓 Completed Electrical Apprenticeship is required. ⚡ 18th Edition Wiring Regulations is required. 🛠️ AM2 is required. 🚗 A valid full driving licence is required. ☎️ Willingness to participate in an on-call rota of approximately 1 in 9/10 is required. 💼 What’s On Offer: 💷 Competitive Salary ⏱️ Overtime Opportunities Available ☎️ On-call rota approximately 1 in 9/10 ⚡ Varied electrical maintenance and installation role 🛠️ Opportunity to work across a wide range of electrical systems and assets 📈 Excellent opportunities for training, development and progression 🎓 Ongoing professional development and support 🏢 Stable, long-term permanent opportunity 🔧 Varied workload covering installations, repairs, testing, PPM and reactive maintenance ⚡ If you're an Electrical Craftsperson or qualified Electrician with an Electrical Apprenticeship, 18th Edition and AM2, and you're looking for a permanent opportunity with excellent overtime potential, we'd love to hear from you
