Electrical Engineering Lecturer | South West Cumbria | Up to £37,415 | Permanent | 37 hours. Practical, hands-on role delivering Level 2 & 3 Electrical Engineering. TR2 Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading Further Education provider in South West Cumbria to recruit an experienced Electrical Engineering Lecturer to join their Engineering team. This is a practical, hands-on role and would suit an experienced Electrical Engineer, Electrical Technician, Engineering Trainer or existing Lecturer who enjoys working in a workshop environment and developing the next generation of engineers. The Role You will deliver Electrical Engineering training across Level 2 and Level 3, with a strong emphasis on practical, workshop-based learning. You will use your industry experience to demonstrate techniques, supervise practical activities and help learners develop the skills expected within a modern engineering environment. The role will involve: * Delivering practical Electrical Engineering training and demonstrations. * Supporting learners during workshop-based activities. * Teaching electrical engineering principles alongside practical application. * Demonstrating safe and effective working practices. * Developing learners' practical competence and confidence. * Supporting fault finding, testing and electrical engineering activities. * Assessing practical work and providing constructive feedback. * Preparing practical activities and maintaining high standards of workshop safety. * Supporting learner progression and achievement. The Ideal Candidate We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong practical Electrical Engineering background who can demonstrate electrical engineering skills to learners. You may currently be working as a: Electrical Engineer | Electrical Engineering Technician | Electrical Technician | Electrical Maintenance Engineer | Electrical/Electronic Engineer | Electrical Engineering Trainer | Electrical Engineering Lecturer | Engineering Instructor | Engineering Demonstrator You should ideally have practical experience in areas such as: * Electrical engineering systems and components * Electrical wiring and circuits * Fault finding and diagnostics * Electrical testing and measurement * Electrical maintenance * Motors and electrical machinery * Control panels * Reading electrical drawings * Practical workshop activities * Engineering tools and equipment * Electrical health & safety Experience within an industrial, manufacturing, engineering or maintenance environment would be particularly valuable. Industry Experience Is Key This role could be an excellent opportunity for an experienced industry professional looking to move into Further Education. You do not necessarily need to have worked as a lecturer previously. We would be interested in candidates who have experience of: * Training apprentices * Mentoring junior engineers or technicians * Supervising engineering staff * Demonstrating practical tasks * Delivering workplace training * Coaching new starters * Assessing practical competence Existing FE teaching, training or assessing experience would of course be advantageous. A relevant Level 3 or higher Electrical Engineering qualification would be expected, with a teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent and/or an A1/TAQA assessor qualification being advantageous.
