Shift Pattern: 6am-6pm/6pm-6am - 2 days/2 nights on, 6 days off

Are you an electrically biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician looking for a temporary role through to Christmas with a well-established paper manufacturing business? This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established engineering team, working on complex process machinery in a safety-focused, supportive environment.
The Role
- Carry out planned, preventative and predictive maintenance on paper machine equipment and associated plant.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to root cause.
- Work closely with colleagues to deliver lasting solutions and reduce downtime.
- Work to engineering KPIs with a “fix it for good” mindset.
- Support continuous improvement activity across the engineering function.
- Coach and support colleagues in resolving technical issues.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, ensuring all responsibilities are completed safely and professionally.
- Support the development and implementation of condition-based maintenance programmes.
- Work with PLC-controlled systems, Siemens equipment, inverter drives, pneumatic and hydraulic components.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance and reactive repairs on manufacturing and process equipment.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical and instrumentation faults and resolve issues to root cause.
- Support safe and efficient operation of paper machine and associated plant equipment.
- Work with PLC-controlled equipment, Siemens systems, inverter drives, pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Contribute to condition-based maintenance programmes and continuous improvement activity.
- Work to engineering KPIs with a focus on long-term, sustainable repairs.
- Support and coach colleagues with technical fault finding and problem solving.
- Complete all work in line with site safety standards, procedures and best practice.
About You
- Qualified electrical engineer or technician, ideally with a recognised electrical engineering apprenticeship.
- City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent engineering qualification preferred.
- Proven electrical and mechanical maintenance experience within a manufacturing or process environment.
- Instrumentation experience would be advantageous.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across complex automated manufacturing systems.
- Good knowledge of process instrumentation, pneumatic and hydraulic components.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to safety and problem solving.
- Good PC skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Project
Desirable Experience
- HNC-level qualification or equivalent.
- High Voltage experience.
- Knowledge of boiler and burner systems.
- Mobile Elevated Working Platforms licence.
- Experience within papermaking or similar process manufacturing environments.
