We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established heavy manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically skilled engineer looking to work within a challenging, high-volume production environment where reliability, safety and continuous improvement are key. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving a wide range of heavy manufacturing machinery and production equipment, ensuring maximum plant availability and minimising downtime. Key Responsibilities * Carry out planned, preventative and reactive electrical maintenance across the manufacturing site. * Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production machinery and plant. * Work with PLC-controlled systems, sensors, motors, drives and control panels. * Respond quickly to breakdowns and minimise production downtime. * Complete electrical inspections and testing in line with company procedures. * Support mechanical maintenance activities where required. * Identify recurring faults and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. * Assist with installation, commissioning and modification of new and existing equipment. * Maintain accurate maintenance records and update the CMMS system. * Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health & safety and electrical regulations. The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have: * A recognised electrical engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent. * Previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer within a heavy manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment. * Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills. * Experience with 3-phase systems, motors, inverters/drives, sensors and control systems. * Ideally, experience working with PLCs and automated production machinery. * A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement. * The ability to work effectively under pressure in a demanding production environment. * A strong commitment to health & safety.
