This exciting position has the opportunity for continued growth and advancement.Job OverviewRole Type: Full-Time and able to adapt to the varying needs of the business (includes out-of-hours cover / call out).Environment: The feed manufacturing environment; Maximise production plant uptime and use downtime / shutdowns productively, while strictly adhering to safety and hygiene standards.Key ResponsibilitiesWork alongside the existing team of staff and contractors.Electrical & Automation SystemsFault Finding: Diagnose complex electrical faults using schematics, testing meters and diagnostic tools.PLC Systems: Hardware Upkeep: Remove, replace and calibrate motors, electrical assemblies, switchgear and safety protection devices.Mechanical MaintenanceEquipment Repair: Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to optimise machinery life and performance.Conduct manual alignment, bearing replacements, fabrication, welding and lubrication of mechanical parts.Fabrication and Welding. Make, repair and adapt parts of the plant, as required.Adhere strictly to Health & Safety (H&S) policies and all relevant regulations.Maintain plant cleanliness and processes.Candidate RequirementsQualifications, Education, ExperienceThe client will take your qualifications into account, but we realise that qualifications do not tell the whole story. if you have relevant experience understand the needs of the business and think you are suitable, send in your full CV explaining your relevant experience and what you can offer this role.Core Technical Level: BTEC Level 4, City & Guilds, or an equivalent National Diploma / NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.Electrical Certification: Formal electrical compliance qualification, such as 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (or regional equivalent).Apprenticeship: Time-served engineering apprenticeship in a manufacturing or heavy industrial setting is highly preferred.Prior maintenance experience in animal feed mills, grain processing, food manufacturing or bulk-handling industries.Strong dual-skilled proficiency (roughly a 60/40 or 50/50 split in electrical competency and mechanical robustness).Mindset: Methodical problem-solver capable of working autonomously during high-pressure breakdown scenariosIf you are a proactive, multi-skilled engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges and takes pride in maintaining high operational standards, this is an excellent opportunity to join our client and build a rewarding long-term career.
