These can include consumer products, innovative transport solutions and safety-critical medical devices.    You will work closely with electronics engineers, designers, mechanical engineers, software engineers and other specialists to help develop and deliver innovative products from early concepts through to launch. The role would suit an electronics technician who enjoys hands-on practical work, PCB rework, prototyping and problem solving, and who wants to be involved in varied engineering projects.    Key Responsibilities Hand-build and modify electronic circuits and prototypes from informal engineering briefs. Carry out high-quality soldering and PCB rework, including very small surface-mount components. Build prototype circuit boards, breadboards and electronic assemblies. Support electronics engineers with prototype development, testing and design iterations. Inspect, modify and troubleshoot PCBs and electronic assemblies. Use electronics CAD systems to access PCB designs, schematics and component information. Progress towards creating PCB components and layouts for prototype and test boards. Maintain and organise the electronics laboratory, tools and equipment. Support multiple projects simultaneously and manage your own workload effectively. Work collaboratively with electronics, mechanical, software and industrial design teams. Learn and apply new technologies, tools and techniques as projects evolve. Contribute to the development of innovative products across a range of industries.    Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience in electronics assembly, soldering and PCB rework. Excellent hand-soldering skills, including experience working with small surface-mount components. Practical experience building or modifying electronic prototypes. Experience working within an electronics development/R&D environment, rather than solely in production. Good understanding of PCBs, electronic components and basic circuit principles. Familiarity with electronics CAD software and the ability to navigate PCB designs and schematics. Relevant electronics qualification or equivalent practical experience. Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work. Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage requests across multiple projects.    Desirable Experience Experience working with 0402 or other miniature surface-mount components. PCB modification and repair. Prototype circuit board assembly. PCB layout or electronics CAD experience. Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters and power supplies. Experience working within a product design consultancy or multidisciplinary R&D environment.    What’s on Offer Competitive salary with paid overtime. 37-hour working week with a half-day Friday. 22 days' holiday, increasing with long service up to 32 days. Annual discretionary profit-related bonus. Two additional fixed holiday bonus payments in July and December, totalling 3% of base salary. Pension scheme. Cycle-to-work scheme. Paid parking permit. Professional and technical development opportunities. Social and activities fund. Subsidised sporting activities and team events. Opportunity to work on projects for leading global brands including Bentley, GSK, Reckitt, Hitachi, Rolls-Royce and Sanofi
