Are you an Electronics Engineer looking for the opportunity to take ownership of next-generation smart textile technology from concept through to production?
Our client is a technology-focused startup developing proprietary smart textile technology for the fast-growing health and wellbeing sector. Guided by the belief that the textile is the sensor, the company works with large global organisations to turn ambitious ideas into products with real-world impact.
The Role
You will take ownership of electronics development from early concepts through to production, reporting directly to the Head of Technology. You will work across the full product lifecycle, helping bring innovative smart textile products to market, including smart mattresses and seat toppers for falls and pressure-ulcer prevention, as well as smart socks for fall prevention.
This is an exciting opportunity for an Electronics Engineer who enjoys practical problem-solving, high-quality hardware design and making a visible contribution within an innovative and collaborative business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end electronics design, from initial concepts through to production-ready solutions
Create schematics and PCB layouts and develop embedded firmware
Build, debug and test prototypes and proof-of-concept systems
Evaluate new technologies and support the ongoing development of existing products
Support product testing, validation and the transition of products into market
Work closely with the technical team and wider business colleagues
Requirements
Essential
Degree or Masters degree in a relevant subject
2+ years experience in electronics engineering
Experience with Embedded C/C++
Experience with PCB design
Strong understanding of analogue and digital electronics
Desirable
Experience with BLE/USB technologies, low-power design and product development
Knowledge of 3D printing and Fusion360/EagleCAD
Understanding of EMC and Design for Manufacture (DFM)
