Key Responsibilities
Establishing and promoting best practice in health, safety and environmental matters alongside the SHQE function
Assisting with temporary works design schemes
Maintaining strong working relationships with clients, designers, the project team, and supply chain
Advising engineers on setting out methods and techniques
Checking drawings and specifications carry sufficient, accurate information for construction, and formally chasing any gaps in good time
Liaising with foremen and supervisors to ensure information is clearly understood on site
Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant for construction
Preparing written risk assessments and method statements to control the works
Maintaining a full and accurate daily site diary, including variations, subcontractor attendance, and key discussions
Ensuring inspection and test plans are completed in line with the PMP and specification, including dimensional and quality checks
Requirements
Experience on construction or civil engineering projects
Strong background in ITPs, RAMS and temporary works
Confident communicating and presenting to senior clients, top-level management, and the public
Excellent knowledge of current civil engineering, health & safety, and environmental legislation
Comfortable discussing engineering issues across different levels and disciplines
Able to produce, implement, and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures
