What you’ll be doing Deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience welcomed). Bring texts to life, encouraging critical thinking, discussion, and confident written expression. Plan purposeful and well-structured lessons that stretch and support all learners. Track and assess student progress, using data to inform teaching and raise achievement. Create a positive and focused classroom environment with high expectations for behaviour. Contribute to curriculum development and the wider work of the English department. Support enrichment opportunities such as reading initiatives, clubs, or theatre trips. What the school is looking for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Experience teaching English in a secondary setting. Strong subject knowledge across literature and language. The ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities. Confident classroom management and clear communication skills. A reflective practitioner with a commitment to ongoing development.
