Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced HSEQ & Compliance Manager to lead Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and compliance activities across high-voltage energy infrastructure projects. This role will oversee integrated management systems, drive a strong safety culture, and ensure compliance across HV substations, grid connections, and related engineering projects throughout the UK.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and continuously improve the Integrated Management System (IMS) aligned to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • Ensure HSEQ compliance across active HV construction and energy infrastructure sites.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
  • Review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for high-risk activities.
  • Manage PQQ submissions and industry accreditations including CHAS, SafeContractor, and Achilles UVDB.
  • Conduct site audits, inspections, and safety briefings.
  • Liaise with clients, regulators, DNOs, IDNOs, and project teams to maintain compliance with CDM 2015 and industry safety requirements.


Required Qualifications

  • Proven HSEQ/SHEQ management experience within High Voltage, Electrical Utilities, Power Distribution, Energy, or Civil Engineering.
  • NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (Diploma preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Internal Lead Auditor qualification for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • GradIOSH, CMIOSH, or actively working towards professional membership.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting grid connection, substation, or renewable energy projects.
