Environmental Sustainability Analyst
We’re looking for an Environmental Sustainability Analyst to join our CSR team.
The Environmental Sustainability Analyst is the analytical engine of the Sustainability & Responsible Business team's carbon workstream. You'll build and maintain AVK's carbon footprint data, help turn strategy into a working carbon reduction plan, and support the growing stream of client, tender and contractual information requests, alongside our mandatory reporting (SECR, Achilles, ISO, EcoVadis).
This work is increasingly commercial: timely, high-quality responses directly influence tenders, contracts and client relationships. You'll provide the analysis, data and first drafts behind these deliverables, with strategic and commercial direction from the Senior Environmental Sustainability Manager, and you'll join with a clear, prioritised workplan already in place.

Leading with an innovative approach, we are the ones who provide the power so that data centres run, uninterrupted. We’re leading the charge in the industry. We launched the first operational microgrid in Europe , we have an offering unique to anyone else’s, we’ve just been named among Deloitte’s Best Managed Companies 2026, and we continue to grow in scale, adding valuable employees to our already capable and expert team.
That’s where you come in. Ready to join us?
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in building and maintaining AVK's Scope 1, 2 & 3 carbon footprint (via Watershed), underpinned by clean, quality-checked activity data
- Support project-specific carbon reporting for client sites using our standard template
- Help build AVK's carbon reduction plan and progress identified initiatives as capacity allows
- Manage day-to-day information requests, tender/ESG submissions, and first-draft data prep
- Prioritise incoming requests by commercial impact, balancing speed and quality
- Develop AVK's embodied carbon dataset and maintain reusable ESG/tender materials
- Support Sales with evidence-based sustainability positioning, informed by market and regulatory monitoring
- Support delivery of SECR, Achilles, ISO 14001/45001 and EcoVadis requirements
- Assist in building the data rigour needed to move EcoVadis from Bronze to Silver
- Build cross-functional relationships (Legal, Supply Chain, Finance, Compliance, People) to embed sustainability into BAU
- Translate carbon/compliance detail for non-specialist audiences
- Build processes to reduce repeated manual effort, using AI tools where they improve speed/quality
- Manage admin processes and contribute to system improvements
Requirements
- Bring strong analytical skills, with confidence interpreting, managing and reporting data in spreadsheets and structured datasets
- Communicate well with stakeholders at all levels, explaining sustainability concepts to non-specialist audiences
- Research unfamiliar technical or regulatory topics quickly and identify their commercial relevance
- Prioritise competing demands with sound judgement in a fast-moving environment, with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Handle commercially sensitive information with integrity and discretion
- Ideally have familiarity with carbon accounting frameworks (GHG Protocol, Scope 1, 2 & 3, SBTi), reporting platforms such as Watershed, and standards such as SECR, EcoVadis and ISO 14001/45001
- Sector experience is valuable but not essential. AVK provides critical power solutions (generators, UPS and energy infrastructure) to the data centre industry, so experience in adjacent sectors would translate well: construction and the built environment, M&E or engineering contracting, energy and utilities, renewables, industrial manufacturing, or infrastructure more broadly
Studies show some candidates only apply when they meet all criteria - we don’t expect that. If this role interests you and you meet many (not all) of the requirements, we’d love to hear from you.
