Estates Surveyor - MRICS

Marks Consulting Partners are currently recruiting for an Estates Surveyor (MRICS) to work with one of our local authority clients in North London. This is a contract role paying £450 per day, offered on a very hybrid basis with just one day a week required in the office; private sector backgrounds are very welcome to apply. What you will be doing: * Managing the property portfolio, worth circa £2.77bn, to maximise value, reduce costs and increase returns * Identifying and executing value add and asset management opportunities across the portfolio * Delivering commercial arrangements, including leases and acquisitions, that meet the council's needs * Acting as intelligent client to the supply chain and property managers on all property management issues * Supporting the wider property strategy, including regeneration, development enabling work and asset disposals * Building robust business cases and progressing them through investment boards up to Cabinet approval What you will need: * MRICS qualification with strong portfolio and estates management experience * A background in property management, acquisitions, disposals or development; local authority exposure is useful but private sector candidates are very welcome * Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate business strategy into real estate outcomes * Confidence building relationships with senior stakeholders, Legal and Finance colleagues If this job is not quite right for you but you are looking for something new, please contact us for a confidential discussion.
