Estimating Engineer – Precision Engineering Location: Lymington, Hampshire Employment: Permanent, full-time Hours: 39 hours per week Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience TXM Recruit is recruiting an experienced Estimating Engineer for a permanent opportunity within a high-precision manufacturing environment in Lymington. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong machining knowledge who can translate engineering drawings and customer requirements into accurate, competitive and commercially viable quotations. The opportunity As an Estimating Engineer, you will manage new opportunities from the initial RFQ stage, developing robust manufacturing methods, costs and quotations. You will work closely with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and internal engineering teams to support the successful introduction of new products into manufacture. Your responsibilities will include: * Preparing accurate, competitive and commercially viable quotations * Reviewing engineering drawings and identifying suitable manufacturing methods * Calculating CNC and manual machining cycle times * Defining tooling, jig, fixture and process requirements * Estimating material, treatment, subcontract and production costs * Identifying and engaging suitable suppliers and subcontractors * Researching unfamiliar coatings, heat treatments and manufacturing processes * Supporting technical and design-for-manufacture discussio...
