Estimator Location: Bolton, BL7 Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30am – 5:30pm | Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm Contract: Full-time, Permanent Right to Work: Full UK right to work required An Exciting Opportunity to Join a Growing Commercial Team We are delighted to be supporting a successful and forward-thinking organisation with the appointment of an experienced Estimator to join their expanding estimating team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional with experience in construction, civil engineering, manufacturing or a related technical environment to take on a varied and rewarding role working across a diverse range of commercial projects. As an Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and commercially competitive cost estimates, reviewing project requirements, supporting commercial decision-making and working closely with suppliers, customers and internal teams to help ensure projects are delivered successfully, efficiently and profitably. Key Responsibilities · Review and assess project enquiries, drawings and specifications to determine scope, requirements and commercial considerations. · Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and quotations using company estimating systems. · Interpret technical drawings, schedules and specifications to ensure accurate project pricing. · Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain competitive quotations, product information and lead times. · Evaluate supplier pricing and identify opportunities for cost savings and commercial efficiencies. · Carry out Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) to monitor project financial performance and profitability. · Support Main Contract Reviews, including programme requirements, delivery schedules and commercial obligations. · Monitor project profitability through regular monthly commercial reviews. · Assist with procurement activities and supplier negotiations where required. · Work collaboratively with Sales Estimating, Design, Operations and Logistics teams to support successful project delivery. · Triage incoming enquiries, identifying potential opportunities and allocating suitable enquiries to the Sales Estimating team. · Maintain accurate estimating records and project information across CRM and business management systems. · Support effective project handovers to operational teams, ensuring all commercial and estimating information is complete and accurate. · Ensure all work is completed in line with company procedures, quality standards and ISO requirements. About You You will be a highly organised and commercially aware professional with excellent attention to detail and strong analytical and numerical skills. You will ideally have experience working within an estimating, commercial or project-based environment and be comfortable interpreting technical drawings, specifications and project information. We are looking for someone who is: · Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail. · Commercially minded with strong analytical and numerical abilities. · Confident interpreting technical drawings, schedules and specifications. · Comfortable managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines. · A confident communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Proactive, self-motivated and capable of working independently. · A collaborative team player who enjoys working cross-functionally. · Competent using Microsoft Office and estimating or business management software. · Committed to delivering consistently high standards of accuracy, quality and customer service. Desirable Experience The following experience would be advantageous: · Previous estimating experience within construction, civil engineering or manufacturing. · Experience within construction materials, hard landscaping or a related sector. · Experience preparing commercial cost estimates and quotations. · CAD experience. · Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications. · Experience carrying out Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR). · Knowledge of contract administration and commercial project management. · Experience working with international supply chains and overseas manufacturers.
