The Role

As Estimator, you will play a key part in winning new work across our commercial project portfolio — spanning Retail, Office, Healthcare, and Leisure sectors, from new build through to fit-out. You will be preparing accurate cost estimates, analysing tender documentation, and building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers along the way.

  • Prepare take-offs and measure quantities from drawings
  • Source and analyse quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Identify project risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options at tender stage
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and the supply chain
  • Compile and submit tender/bid documentation within deadlines
  • Liaise with the commercial and operations teams to ensure a smooth handover of successful projects
  • Keep up to date with current market rates, material costs, and industry trends

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs
  • Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel in particular); experience with Causeway is desirable
  • Proficiency in CAD software would be helpful
  • Experience in billing from drawings would be advantageous
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously
  • A relevant construction, quantity surveying, or engineering qualification is desirable

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience
  • Office-based role at our Head Office in East Kilbride
  • Supportive team environment with genuine career progression opportunities
  • The chance to work on a varied and interesting project portfolio

Dickie & Moore Construction is an equal opportunities employer.
