This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in an electronics manufacturing environment who enjoys analysing technical information, working collaboratively across departments, and delivering accurate cost estimates that support business growth.
The Role
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for calculating production costs for a wide range of electronic manufacturing projects. Working from customer data packs, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and technical specifications, you will prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates covering materials, labour, and manufacturing requirements.
Key Responsibilities of the Estimator
Review and analyse customer manufacturing data packs, technical drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).
Generate BOMs in Excel where customer documentation is incomplete or unavailable.
Calculate production costs, including materials, labour, and manufacturing processes.
Liaise with the Purchasing team to obtain component pricing and supplier quotations.
Identify any specialist tooling or manufacturing requirements that may impact costs.
Work closely with the Engineering team to clarify manufacturing processes and technical requirements.
Maintain and update internal costing templates and pricing models.
Prepare accurate and competitive quotations in line with company standards.Requirements of the Estimator
Previous estimating experience within an electronics/electrical manufacturing environment.
Ability to analyse technical documentation and manufacturing information.
Knowledge of electronics manufacturing and production techniques.
Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
Knowledge of manufacturing costing methodologies.Benefits for the Estimator
