A leading flooring subcontractor in Bedford has an opportunity for a Trainee Estimator or Estimator to join their commercial team. They are financially strong, expanding, and known for exceptional quality and service. This is a great role for someone who wants to learn, progress and grow in a fast-paced commercial environment. You will be joining a team of six, consisting of two Business Development Managers and four Estimators. Hybrid working is available after a training period. Benefits

Trainee Estimator / Estimator

This is a full-time, office-based role with regular site visits. You will assist with and develop skills in: Reviewing drawings and specifications

Quantity take-offs

Preparing estimates and costings

Pricing bills of quantities and producing lump-sum tenders

Supplier and subcontractor enquiries

Comparing quotations and supporting procurement

Assisting with tender submissions

Supporting contract administration and commercial reporting

Carrying out site surveys 12 times per week

Working on projects requiring security clearance

You will typically manage 78 live tenders at any one time, valued between £50,000 and £1.5m. This role is suitable for:

Trainee Estimator / Estimator

5 GCSEs including a C in Maths

Must be able to drive

Good attention to detail

Able to juggle multiple tenders and deadlines in a high-pressure environment

Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel

Strong organisational and communication skills

Able to work independently and within a team

Experience in negotiation is beneficial

Comfortable working on security-cleared projects (training provided)

8.30am
