External Works Operative - Domestic Properties

External Works Operative Full Time | 40 Hours per Week Salary: Circa £30,900 per annum An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced External Works Operative to join a well-established social housing maintenance contractor. This role is ideal for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance, helping to keep homes safe, secure and well maintained. The Role The External Works Operative will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of external maintenance and repair works, including: * Fencing repairs and installations * Brickwork and minor masonry repairs * Groundworks and external hard landscaping * Roofing and roofline repairs * Guttering, fascias and soffits * Diagnosing repairs and identifying associated works * Completing pre-inspections where required * Recording completed works, materials and job information using a handheld device * Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times Requirements * Proven experience carrying out external repairs and maintenance within domestic properties, ideally in the social housing sector * Strong skills in fencing, brickwork, roofing, roofline repairs, guttering and groundworks * The ability to diagnose repair issues and identify effective solutions * Experience working safely at height and using power tools and appropriate PPE * The ability to manage their own workload and consistently deliver work to a high standard * Good communication and customer service skills * Confidence using handheld technology to record work and job information * The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team * A full UK driving licence * The ability to pass a basic DBS check Benefits * Salary of circa £30,900 per annum * 40-hour working week * 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays * Company van and fuel card provided * Excellent pension scheme with employer contributions of up to 12% (up to three times employee contributions) * Life assurance of four times annual salary * Healthcare cashback scheme worth up to £1,300 per year (category limits apply) * Employee Assistance Programme * Gym membership discounts * Cycle to Work scheme * Long service loyalty scheme with additional annual leave If you are looking for a position with genuine opportunities for career progression and job security, please do not delay.
