Our client, a Water and Wastewater engineering contractor, who focus on the repair, maintenance, and service of treatment plants and water infrastructure, are currently looking for a Proposals Engineer, for a temporary contract.
The role will last for circa 3 to 6 months, and will focus on the preparing and submitting high-quality, accurate and standardised tenders, to meet company order intake targets.
In this role you will review, select and develop quotations for repairs, maintenance and service works, typically on projects valued between £0 - £250k, primarily within the Water and Wastewater industry or similar industrial sectors.
The position is mechanical bias with an appreciation of electrical work, supported by collaboration with sales, technical engineering, design, operations, and supply chain teams.
The successful candidate will ensure quotations meet customer expectations and company margin requirements, while adhering to health and safety, contractual, and environmental standards.
Daily duties will include but are not limited to:
Evaluate tenders and enquiries to determine suitability of products and services.
Collaborate with internal teams including proposals, sales, engineering, and process engineers to assess technical and process aspects.
Obtain competitive pricing for plant and services, ensuring specifications are met.
Prepare detailed cost estimates and written quotations, including technical schedules.
Maintain customer contact post-submission until contract award.
Manage and update technical and financial information within product files.
Ensure compliance with BS EN ISO9001 and 14001 standards.
Uphold health, safety, and environmental responsibilities within projects.
Candidates will ideally:
Have previously worked as a Proposals Engineer on similar projects within the Water industry, or within a similar industrial setting.
Hold a qualification within Engineering, such as a Degree/HND, or be time served.
Have familiarity with NEC3 & NEC4 contract conditions and associated business risks.
Strong experience in industrial/mechanical engineering with electrical integration, preferably within a service or water industry environment.
Knowledge of industrial mechanical installation and maintenance proposals.
Understanding of Health & Safety in construction and CDM regulations.
